Corn Maze

I had UEA break last weekend and of course Justin could not stand the thought of being at work while I was playing so he took off a couple of days as well. We had so much fun spending time together and doing no yard work! On Friday we went shopping with my sister and bought some new Christmas ornaments. Then Saturday we took Braxton and my sister to the American West Heritage Center. We had been talking it up to B all week, about how we were going to a corn maze and how much fun it would be and how excited we were. Of course he grew to be very excited as well. We got there and found there were a variety of activities going on which made the day all more fun. We started with a train ride, B is soo into trains and cars and trucks right now, I think this was probably his favorite thing, we even rode it twice for him. Then there were demonstrating how to make apple juice and some other olden day activities. Next we noticed there were pony rides, I did not think that b would ride a pony, he has seen horses before and will not even touch them. He surprised us and said he wanted to ride so Justin stood in line with him and walked with him as he rode the pony, he had a blast. Next we made it over to the kids maze, made of hay and a pirate ship. He loved to steer the ship and would take over the wheel as soon as he could. Finally we ventured into the corn maze. By this time it was a little later than we were planning on and everyone was getting hungry, so we used the map to follow a path to lead us right out, thanks to Justin. After that we went and got some pizza for lunch and then Braxton took a nice nap. What a great ending to a wonderful weekend!

Fall is here

Well it seems as if I am not such a great blogger, but I will try to be better. We had a great summer that went by way too fast. I had two siblings get married and we bagan doing our yard work, what a huge project! We got our dirt and rocks in July and since have been working on the sprinklers. Really Justin is doing all of the work and I just get him water and food, I have a great husband., and have had lots of help from family, especially my father-in-law. So now the sprinklers are getting close to being finished, just in time for the cold weather to settle in. Hopefully next summer we will get all the big stuff done, trees, grass, a water feature, and then the fun of plants and flowers can be started. The weddings were very nice and fun, both were in August. We did not go anywhere all summer but I did get to be of some help with the weddings and I threw a joint bridal shower for my cute sister and sister-in-law. Alaina and Todd were married first in the Bountiful temple. It was so nice and B looked great in his tux, who doesn't love a boy in a tux. The next week was Stephen and Maddies wedding in the Logan temple. Again it was beautiful and it is so fun to see my siblings get married and to gain more family. Alaina also had a reception in California, so that was our vacation this summer. We drove there on a Friday, about 11 hour drive, then returned home the next Monday. Way too short. While there we saw some big redwood tress at Muir Park, and also took the opportunity to go to the beach, it was Braxton's first time and I am not so sure he liked it. So our summer flew by much too fast. I did do some sewing a baby blanket some burp cloths and I started a quilt for Alaina, I really need to finish it. I think Braxton had fun getting to see a lot of family this time and hanging out with them. He is growing so much and speaks in sentences and can get into all sorts of trouble.

Summer is here

I am so excited that summer is finally here and the weather seems to be agreeing with me. We have had a nice couple of days home and been able to do some fun things. On Saturday our local grocery store had a car show where Braxton and family could look at cars, a fire engine and they had a giant slide to go down. B would not go by himself but dad and then Uncle Stephen took him down, which he loved. They also had a BBQ with brauts, B ate a whole bruat, not the bun, but all of the meat! I have a growing boy!
He also took the opportunity this last week to color and of course found it more fun to do so on the floor than his paper.
I also had the last week of school went meant that I was in charge of getting the gifts for those who are not returning and planning our luncheon. We had it catered by Iron Gate Grill which is so yummy. I also had a kind student bring me some lovely flowers!I am so excited to be home with my Braxton this summer and hopefully get a lot of work done on our yard, basement and to relax! Braxtons latest funny thing to say is "I can't hear you" he says it when he is in another room and you are talking to him, or even if he just can't see you so he yells it at us to let us know he can't hear us, it is so funny what they pick up on!

Like Father Like Son

So I married a guy who knows how to lounge and relax and Braxton has definitely picked up on that. B's favorite thing to do on a Saturday morning is watch cartoons on dad's bed, notice the bed is not mine nor the TV but they are dads. Of course Justin and I do not mind it means we also get to take it easy on Saturday morning and enjoy our time together. One of our favorite cartoons is Phineas and Ferb, on the Disney channel, even for adults that is a good one. There are of course other good things that B has learned and inherited from his father. One of which is his gorgeous blue eyes. We recently had our family photos done and I was so impressed with how blue his eyes are in the pictures. To see a couple of them go to this site http://www.sweethoneyphoto.com/blog/ she did a great job!
Hopefully B can also learn some things from me like music. He got to attend my 7th grade choir concert last night, which went really well. Afterwards he said "Good Job Mom" and "Thanks for the concert" how cute is that. I think he really liked running around with his Aunts and playing in my classroom more than the concert.

Mothers Day

Mothers day was great and I got what I have been wanting for a while now, a Bosch mixer, which is actually my birthday and mothers day gift combined but well worth it. So of course I had to try it out and was asked to make rolls for our mothers day dinner at Justin's parents house. They turned out great and I am turning into a cook, I hope. Braxton loved them so much he ate two on the way home, a 15 min. drive, and then the next day when he saw the bowl asked for more. For mothers day we had church, the priesthood all sang and Justin even went up, I was so pleased! Then I got to teach the Relief Society lesson on the prophets. For dinner we were lucky enough to spend time at the Jensen home for a great dinner and company. All in all a good day.

Another great thing is Braxton has figured out how to jump with his feet actually leaving the floor, it is the cutest thing to watch so I videoed it, only I did not realize that I can not change the orientation of the video so you will have to tilt your head.

And because he is so cute a picture of him jumping, I just love this one.

2010

So I decided to update you all on our year thus far. Not much went on in January and February we enjoyed the snow and Justin made sure to go skiing about every weekend. In March Braxton turned two and we had a fun family party with all of the great-grandparents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins plus other family members. It was a blast and Braxton loved having everyone sing "Happy Birthday" to him.

For spring break we were able to go to Las Vegas and spend time with Justin's brother Chris his wife Shae and their darling daughter Lucy. Braxton loves Lucy and was constantly giving her hugs and kisses and making sure she was okay. While there we walked the strip saw some cool animals and enjoyed hanging out.
